Almond Butter Bars

Updated: Apr 26, 2020

but·ter; the more butter, the happier we'll be

Ingredients:

1c Butter, melted

2c Graham Crackers, crushed

2 1/2c Powdered Sugar

1c Almond Butter

8oz Dark Chocolate, melted

Directions:

1. Mix butter, graham crackers, powdered sugar, and almond butter in large mixing bowl

2. Spread mixture into 9x13 baking dish

3. Melt chocolate in a double boiler. I don't use a thermometer to temper my chocolate, but I always melt it really slowly, only turning my stove to medium. Once the chocolate starts melting, I stir gently. When most of the chocolate has melted, but small lumps remain, I remove from heat and let the heat in the chocolate continue melting on its own

4. Spread the melted chocolate with a spatula, evenly, over the bars

5. Let the chocolate set 2-3 hours in the fridge

Notes:

Make sure to crush the graham crackers well - you almost want them to be powdered

You can also make simple ingredient swaps - the original recipe calls for peanut butter instead of almond butter

I suggest if you're using almond butter, use a dark chocolate. Peanut butter, use either milk or semi-sweet (but feel free to use any combination you have on hand!)

Also, if you're looking to make these a little "healthier" adding Pb2 or a protein powder would be a great addition. I haven't added protein in yet, but if you do, let me know how it goes! I would love to hear your recommendations

Makes approximately 12 bars
