Baked Feta With Walnuts, Honey, and Thyme

Ingredients:

Feta Cheese, 8oz

2T Extra Virgin Olive Oil

1 1/2T Honey

2T Walnuts, coarsely chopped

1t Thyme, dried

Black Pepper, to taste


Pita or Crackers, for serving


Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 400F

2. Drain excess water from feta package

3. Place feta in small, oven safe dish

4. Cover with olive oil, bake 8-10 minutes

5. Turn oven to broil

6. While oven heats, mix walnuts in with honey, pour over top of warm feta

7. Return dish to oven and broil until the top of the cheese starts to brown (broil temperature can vary by oven, so broil time may be different for everyone. Make sure to keep an eye on the feta / walnuts so they don't burn. A little color is okay, but you don't want to totally char the walnuts)

8. Remove from oven, sprinkle with thyme and fresh ground black pepper

9. Serve warm with warmed pita or crackers
